KIAS HIGO Seminar Concluded

Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences (KIAS) in collaboration with HIGO program, Kumamoto University, Japan organized one seminar at Grand Hotel, Kathmandu on 26th of September 2016. During the seminar, scientists from KIAS, professors from Tribhuvan University and faculty and students from Kumamoto University shared their research experiences. Faculty and students from Kumamoto University lead by Dr. Hari Prasad Devkota were among the foreign participants including Dr. Umeda Kahoko, Dr. Satoshi Ishida and 8 other graduate students. KIAS scientist Dr. Susma Giri talked on physical and biological diversities in Nepal whereas Dr. Basant Giri talked on overview and present context of research in Nepal and in KIAS. Similarly, Prof. Dr. Ram Bahadur Chhetri from Tribhuvan University gave informative talk on culture, society and economy of Nepal. Also, Prof. Pradip Raj Giri from Tribhuvan University talked about political and historical background of Nepal. In addition, eight students from Kumamoto University briefly introduced their research interest and work they are doing currently in the University. The program was hosted by Dr. Rashila Deshar and ended with concluding remark by Dr. Bhanu B. Neupane.
